There seem to be important links between preschoolers’ knowledge about the world; oral language comprehension skills; and later reading comprehension skills.

This issue of sleep and stuttering keeps emerging with research. With 30 children who stuttered and 21 control children ages 7–12 years, two of eight sleep measures were significantly different between the groups. These were sleep latency (the time taken to fall asleep) and sleep efficiency (the percentage of time asleep in bed). That certainly bears thinking about for its clinical implications. A clue: is it related to anxiety?

Since the announcement of Thriving Kids, uncertainty has been rife in the paediatric disability sector, and rightly so, because the details are unknown. I'd like to join the conversation with some positivity about the strengths that may come from this proposed service delivery model.
