Those who stutter live in a society that marginalises them with stigma. They can be affected by social anxiety and not getting the best from their education and not doing all they could do in the workplace. These quality-of-life issues are obviously related to social stigma about the condition—negative generalisations. This is shown with stuttering usually being depicted negatively in works of fiction, particularly in movies. The most obvious display of this widespread stigma is the POSHA-S data base, with tens of thousands of people in 45 countries. https://lnkd.in/dVPf7VSR
